2010 Fantasy Draft – QB Tier Rankings

It is that time of year again.  I am starting to prepare for drafts and draft strategies.  My first draft of the year is tomorrow night.  I am trying an ESPN league for the first time.  I typically play CBS or Yahoo.  I will try to play on some different sites to get some different perspective.

Back to strategy.  One of the most important strategies is to understand the tier value for groups of players.  Quarterbacks are the first group I will [...]

2010 Preseason Fantasy Football Rankings

It is time to start getting serious about your 2010 Fantasy Season.  July and August are right around the corner and 2010 Fantasy Drafts will be in full swing.   There is plenty of time to work on draft strategies, but it is never to early to start looking at fantasy rankings.  If you are in a keeper league, the preseason rankings can help you make those tough decisions on who to keep and who to let go prior to your [...]

NFL Mock Draft 2010 – Fantasy Style

OK, so I wrote not to get all hyped up about the NFL Combine, but now that the 2010 NFL Draft is just a few days away I can’t help but doing my own Mock Draft… Fantasy Football Style that is…

Ryan Matthews, RB, Fresno State – I have seen NFL mocks with Matthews as early as #20 to Houston to the more obvious #28 to San Diego.  Either landing place would allow Matthews to put up solid stats as a [...]

2010 Fantasy Draft – Michael Bush vs. Darren McFadden

Do you like Michael Bush or Darren McFadden?  The release of Justin Fargas allows both to have a chance to step up as the feature running back for the Oakland Raiders in 2010.  How do they compare?

Darren McFadden is 6’2″ and 210 lbs in his third season out of Arkansas.  McFadden has had trouble staying on the field due to injuries.  Over his first 2 seasons, McFadden has 217 carries with a 3.9 ypc average and 5 td’s.  He has also has value in PPR leagues as he [...]

Keepers – Long Term Value

If you are in a Keeper League of Dynasty League you need to make good decisions today that will impact your Fantasy Team over the next few years.  NFL.com recently posted a blog on the value of age when analyzing your options. The list does not include the automatic top 10 options that are no-brainers, but rather focuses on players who’s value could increase over the next few years.  When looking at the list, it is important to understand the [...]

NFL Combine overrated for Fantasy Owners

NFL Scouts may get great information from the NFL Combine that can influence when and where last year’s collegiate stars land in April.  The 40 times are probably the most followed drill that can help players rise and fall in the draft, but should not excite Fantasy Owners.  There are a few simple rules regarding the draft:

Don’t get caught up in the pre draft hype of  NFL Mock Drafts.  It will only matter where players land and the situation that [...]

Which site has the most accurate rankings?

Sara Holiday, the Fantasy Football Librarian from the New York Times, recently wrote a blog on rating the Fantasy Football Rankings  for 2009.  This is a pretty interesting attempt to measure ranking accuracy.  She does note that the site using ADP, Average Draft Position, did fairly well indicating that the drafting public does a pretty good job.  This will be a good blog to refer during your draft prep this summer.  Understanding Fantasy Rankings came make or break your draft.  [...]
