Fantasy Notes – Preseason Week #3

The NFL Preseason is all but a wrap for most starters (except the Cowboys that is…) and mostly guys fighting for back-up roster spots will get the quality minutes in the last game.  As for Fantasy owners, we are unlikely to learn any more from Week # 4 of the Preseason.  My biggest recommendation is to scour the NFL depth charts for the #2/#3 running backs or the # 3/#4 wide receivers that are currently free agents in your fantasy [...]

Fantasy Notes – Preseason Week #1

Wow!!  Have you recovered from your 1 Quarter of NFL starters?  Week # 1 of the 2010 NFL Preseason actually had a lot of story-lines that will impact Fantasy Football.  Here are my Fantasy Note from Preseason Week # 1:

Texans Rookie RB Ben Tate is out for the season and now Arian Foster shoots up the Fantasy Draft Boards
49ers RB Glen Coffee retires after 1 NFL Season, Brian Westbrook is signed to compete with rookie Anthony Dixon (100 yds on [...]

2010 Fantasy Football Avg Draft Position

Here is the latest 2010 Fantasy Football Average Draft Position (ADP) as of 8/12/10 from CBS Sports Fantasy Football Site.  This is an excellent tool to use for preparation in your upcoming Fantasy Draft.  If you don’t already have a cheat sheet, this certainly can do the trick.  Remember, only bring 1 cheat sheet to your Fantasy Draft!!!   More than 1 sheet will cause confusion and not allow you to execute your fantasy draft strategy.

2010 NFL Preseason Underway!!

The NFL 2010 Season is underway!!!  Yesterday, some great players were inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame including the leading rusher of all time Emmit Smith and the leading receiver of all time, Jerry Rice.  They were great NFL players and probably helped many Fantasy Owners win championships back in the day.  However, I wonder how many downs either played in preseason?

I am sure many of you have done a lot of research in preparation for your 2010 Fantasy [...]

Fantasy Football – Mock it Up!

Getting ready for your 2010 Fantasy Football Draft?  If you are drafting online, I can not recommend enough to go through at least 1 mock draft.  Every year most online Fantasy Football Sites perform some sort of upgrade or change to enhance their online draft tool.  More importantly, you might need to download a new version of a Flash Drive or Java.

Mock drafts help you in a few ways to actually prep for your draft.

Get the feel for how the [...]

2010 Draft Strategy – Kickers & DST

I will keep this rule simple.  Your draft strategy in every league must be :

Defenses are drafted with your next to last pick.
Kickers are drafted with your last pick.

In 2009, the top defense (DST) scored 163 points in standard scoring.  The next 14 DST’s scored between 147 points and 125 points.  Not much difference here.  Also, I have had great success in the past few seasons playing the waiver wire/match-ups on a weekly basis.  I will continue with this strategy [...]

2010 Fantasy Draft – RB Tier Rankings

Here are the Running Backs!!  See how quickly the elite separate from the lower tiers.  Only 25 total RB’s projected to score 150+ points in 2010 PPR Leagues.  Switch to Standard Scoring Leagues and only 12 RB’s are projected to score more than 150+ points.  Since there are about 30 QB’s and 38 WR’s projected to score more than 150 points in PPR leagues, you can see why it might be important to understand the tier values across positions when [...]

2010 Fantasy Draft – WR Tier Rankings

We have looked tier values of  QB’s and TE’s in preparation for the upcoming 2010 Fantasy Football Drafts.  Now we turn to Wide Receivers.  Pay attention to the few #1 tier wide-outs on the list as you craft your draft strategy for seasonal redraft leagues.  If you are in a keeper/dynasty league, you may want to look at trading for one of the top guys.  The rankings look at Standard Scoring Leagues vs. Points Per Reception (PPR) leagues.  Here is [...]

2010 Fantasy Draft – TE Tier Rankings

Continuing our look at the tier values by position, we move onto tight end rankings.  In looking at the list below, it is clear that the tight end position is very deep for the 2010 Fantasy Football Season.  That being said, unless you grab one of the top 3, there is plenty of time to wait in your upcoming drafts to grab a tight end.  Use this list to compare to the other positions and I would suggest adding RB [...]
